About Brazoria County Library System (BCLS)
In partnership with eleven towns and cities, the Library System serves Brazoria County residents through twelve branches spread from Freeport in the South to West Pearland in the North; with a robust array of virtual and digital services and outreach events and programming.

County Library Board
The board’s central function is to advise library administration on the operation and mission of the branch.

County Library Foundation
The Foundation’s purpose is to aid the development of the Brazoria County Library System by helping it to provide programs and services not possible with county appropriations.

VIP Access
VIP access allows registered patrons limited and monitored access to library facilities outside of normal business hours. This service is available to patrons 18 or older in good standing who sign the acceptable use statement.

Volunteer
Brazoria County Library System utilizes volunteers as a welcome addition to a branch’s workforce. They assist a branch’s staff in performing work of a non-professional nature, and they do not supplant or replace the paid staff.

- Why can't I get into My Account?

The usual answer is your library card has expired. Library Cards are good for 3 years. After that, they need to be renewed. Contact your local branch.
- Why can't I get into a particular database? I typed in the passwords you gave me.

To access our databases remotely, the database computer must know you are a legitimate user. Many systems do this by seeing which site you came from to get to their database. Virus protection and personal firewalls can have this feature blocked You must enable the option for transmitting your "referring URL" and "IP address". See your software manual for details.
